I must say at first I was very hesitant to joining in on the choker trend. Now I am obsessed! They really help enhance that cutesy bad ass vibe I love adding to my outfits! This wrap choker from Target’s new collaboration with Baublebar is both cute and edgy at the same time!
I used to really stay away from the more form fitting types of clothing but now I can’t get enough of it! I feel like no matter what size you are body con dresses like these make you look amazing! Along with chokers, they are probably my favorite trend right now!
What’s your favorite trend at the moment? Let me know in the comments below!
The weather has been so bipolar lately so whenever we get a day that is warm I am so grateful! The ups and downs of this season got me thinking. What is the perfect outfit for a season that is both hot and cold at the same time?
Now, I’m no Carly The College Prepster or Gal Meets Glam, but I think this outfit is pretty darn cute. It’s not super layered like a typical winter outfit of mine, or super lightweight one of my typical summer outfits.
This sleeveless Essie dress from Lilly Pulitzer is the perfect length! It can be worn to anything from a family barbecue to a day at the office. It was a pretty warm day when I took these photos so I didn’t wear any outerwear but one could easily pair it with a jean jacket or cardigan if the weather is a bit more on the chilly side where you live.
If there is one thing that is good at taking a simple outfit to the next level it’s statement jewelry. This nail bracelet from The Culley Committee does just that. This nail design is so unique! I can honestly say I have never seen anything quite like it! If you all want to purchase this bracelet or anything else from The Culley Committee make sure to use the code “Culley15” at checkout for 15% off your order!
This post is also a collaboration with the beautiful Peytyn Brynn from Timelessly Trendy! Her blog is amazing and she is so sweet! You all should totally check out her blog for the post she did!
Thank you Culley Committee for collaborating with me on this post!
It is currently raining as I am writing this post. So this new sunglass collection from Warby Parker is making me want summer even more than I already did!
This re release of the Haskell frame is amazing! The designs are so unique but also so versatile!
Now I know these sunglasses are expensive but the quality is amazing! If you want to try out some of these sunglasses before purchasing you can always use their At Home Try-On option. You can try them out for 5 days! If you like them you can purchase them and if not you just send them back!
If you haven’t been living under a rock for the last year, you would know that the website, SheIn has taken the blogging world by storm! It is basically Forever21 on steroids! It is ridiculous how low these prices are!
SheIn has quickly become every blogger’s go to for trendy pieces that won’t break the bank!
Below are some pieces that have caught my eye recently. Best part? All of them are under $30!
To say that I am obsessed with Lilly’s new arrivals is an understatement! I’m already counting down till the After Party Sale these will be in so I can finally get my hands on these beauties! I feel like this season has the perfect balance between classic Lilly and their take on today’s trends.
On February 18, my mom and I went to my first ever YouTuber meet up! I have been really into YouTube for years now but I have never actually met a YouTuber I watch until now!
The meet up was for YouTubers, Morgan Yates and Jeanine Amapola was held at the Streets at SouthPoint in Durham, North Carolina. I will say I did get a little freaked out when I saw the long line outside of Kendra Scott but it honestly moved along pretty well.
The actual experience of meeting Morgan and Jeanine was amazing! I was worried that I wouldn’t get enough time to talk to Morgan and that the conversation wouldn’t feel personal but I can honestly say that is far from the truth! Morgan in particular is one of my favorite YouTubers! I am so glad that I got to tell her how much I enjoy her content! A lot of YouTubers these days are very fake and over the top in their videos. Morgan on the other hand is so down to earth and so chill!
I also her friend Caroline who was their helping take pictures during the meet up! If you watch Morgan’s vlogs like I do you will know she is a literal ray of sunshine!
Ok, I know this is the most cliche blogger thing to say, but I cannot believe January is over! This month literally flew by! A lot happened in January. I turned 22, started classes, and even started applying for jobs again!
In January, I also discovered some amazing products that I am so excited to share with you all!
Setting Spray – I have been loving this setting spray by E.L.F! I have been spraying it all over my face after I finish putting on my makeup. It gives you that barely there feel on your face even if you have on a lot of makeup. The spray also makes sure that your makeup will stay on all day. I have worked for 12 hours straight at the theater. After my long shift, my makeup looks like I just put it on!
Monogrammed Ear Warmers – This monogrammed ear warmer is so cute and so comfy! What I really love about this ear warmer is that it keeps my head and ears warm without covering up my hair! Oh and did I mention it’s monogrammed? And it has glitter on it!
Cute Redbubble Stickers -I have been obsessed with stickers lately! They make anything more fun and personal! I found out about Redbubble through one of my favorite YouTubers, Brooke Miccio. After seeing pictures of her decorated school supplies, I knew I had to get some! They also mark down your stickers if you buy 6 and have great sales all the time!
Lilly Pulitzer Agenda – I know this is probably one of the most basic purchases I have ever made but I love this agenda so much! There is just something about the colorful prints and fun stickers that make every day tasks way more fun to accomplish! I actually got mine for sale at Barnes and Noble for 15 dollars!
Monograms – I have been so into monograms recently! Monogramming is such a fun cute way of personalizing your things! I really like gold monograms because they are super simple and so chic! ShayButterMonograms is my go to for monograms! You guys should definitely check them out!
What I’ve Been Listening To –
For music, most of what I listened to was Kehlani’s new album and Tove Lo. I always loved Kehlani but this album makes me love her even more! It’s so fun and has such a chill cool beat!
Hello everyone! Long time no blog! I seriously could not be more excited about this year and all it will bring! I’ve been thinking a lot about goals and what I want to accomplish in 2017. While I don’t think resolutions are for everyone, I do think it is always good to set goals for the new year and strive to improve yourself through those goals.
Read at least 1 book a month. – When I was younger, I used to read all the time! Junie B Jones, The Magic Tree House, you name it, I read it! As I got into my high school years I got busy with school. Since I read so much for my classes, I found myself wanting to do other things in my spare time. I got more into things like YouTube and keeping up with my favorite television series. Now, there certainly isn’t anything wrong with watching television or YouTube videos. What I really want to strive for is a balance between these interests. I know that love for reading is still there! While I did read a few books in 2016 I really want to bring that number up in 2017. I thought having myself read at least a book a month would give me just enough encouragement without putting pressure on myself.
Take better care of myself. – 2016 was a very rough year for me as far as my mental health went. I realized that there were many times when I was so focused on work and my grades that I didn’t even take time for myself. I then became very anxious and honestly just didn’t feel like myself. Now, I want to make sure I focus on myself before anything else.
Focus more on my relationship with God.- I’m gonna be honest with y’all. In 2016, I barely went to church. Part of me wasn’t going because of my struggle with feeling torn between my faith and my relationship with the LGBT community. Another part of me wasn’t going because sleeping in on my days off from work feels really freaking good. I want to make sure that I get in the habit of not just going to church but also studying the Bible and just making God a bigger part of my life.
Get better with money. – In 2016, I started working at my first job. I work at a movie theatre about 3 days a week. It’s not the most glamorous job in the world but it pays and the people I work with are really nice. With this newfound biweekly paycheck of mine, I developed a bit of an online shopping problem. This year I want to save more money, while also treating myself from time to time.
Post at least 2 blogposts and 2 YouTube videos a month. – I really hope to get back into making YouTube videos this year. It is something I enjoy but because of how time consuming it is I tend to have a hard time getting the videos done.I am going to really strive to post at least 2 post and videos each month. I also want the content I make to really reflect myself and my style. I often see a lot of the same thing on YouTube so I really want to try and be unique while also being me.
Make new friends. – While I love my alone time and hanging out with my family I really miss having a consistent social life and This spring is my last semester at my community college. I am taking online classes so school won’t be giving me a whole lot of social opportunities. Most of my friends are made from my job at the movie theatre and since I only work a few days a week I don’t see those people that often. So this year I really want to step outside of my comfort zone to put myself in situations where I can make more friends. I also want to try and spend more time with the friends I have made at my job.
Learn a little bit each and every day. – Finally, I want to go out of my way to learn about something that interests me outside of school. I can do this by watching a documentary on Netflix, reading a book, or even going to a museum. In this day age, it is so easy to just go through our day, take in the media that is shoved in our faces, and do it all over again the next day. So it is more important than ever to make sure we know how to think independently and learn constantly.
Happy Holidays everyone! I am so happy to be back at it with blogging now that finals week is finally done! I have seriously missed you guys so much! I can’t wait to start posting more for you all over the break!
Ever since fall started I have been really into styling different clothing pieces, shoes and accessories, especially ankle boots! Ankle boots are a great way to really make your outfit look more mature and super chic!
In this blogpost, I am going to show you all how to style ankle boots in both your everyday life and when you want to dress up a little!
This first outfit is great for a day at the office. The skirt dresses the outfit up making it office appropriate, while the sweater keeps it casual and super comfortable. As someone who hated tights when I was younger, I can honestly say I love wearing these! They don’t ride up or itch! The fleece lining on the inside also keeps you super warm! The black ankle boots I am wearing have a block heel so you won’t have to worry about your feet hurting during your hard day at work.
One thing I love doing with my outfits is layering. Vests are a perfect way to layer without making your outfit super bulky or bland. A lot of times when I wear a big coat over my shirt it will cover it up and throw off the whole look! When I wear this vest from Old Navy, It keeps me warm while also adding an extra bit of prep to my look!
